OMV Exploration & Production GmbH is an independent operating division of OMV AG, the leading integrated oil and natural gas group in Central and Eastern Europe and is one of Austria’s largest listed industrial companies. Currently OMV E&P have activities in 17 countries worldwide and a wide variety of challenging projects. Northwestern Europe is one of six core regions.

OMV (Norge) AS established their office in Stavanger in August 2007 and is committed to a long-term future in Norway with the strategic aim to develop a significant portfolio of assets.

OMV (Norge) AS, however, have been established in Norway since 2006 and were awarded first exploration licences in APA2006

  • Currently have a portfolio of 10 production licences of which 7 are operated by OMV

We are currently expanding our exploration team in Stavanger and are seeking a Senior Explorationist, with a good knowledge of the Norwegian Continental Shelf and with a good sense for new exploration opportunities.

Your responsibilities:

 

  • Identify, characterize and pursue exploration-led opportunities in Norway, Including licensing rounds, new areas and farm-ins
  • Carry out technical assessments from prospects and currently held acreage
  • Conduct and coordinate G&G work in operated and non-operated licenses and seek innovative approaches to existing exploration challenges
  • Assist in seismic acquisition and planning, well planning and drilling operations
  • Participate in peer reviews and tollgates and represent OMV in technical meetings

Your profile:

  • University degree in geosciences with a proven track record in NCS exploration
  • Sound workstation skills, 2D and 3D interpretation and basic understanding of attribute analysis and inversion
  • Good knowledge of sedimentology, structural geology, sequence stratigraphy and petroleum geology
  • Self-starter with strong communicational and analytical skills
